Meet Shannon Pratt, originally from East Royalty, PEI, she is Innovation PEI’s Creative Industries Development Officer.

The most treasured part of her job is working with industry partners to develop and grow opportunities so that creative workers can be…creative! It fosters opportunities for local artists to find success right here in PEI and allow world class creative and cultural industry workers to travel to distant stages, galleries and theaters and still come home.

Outside of work, she spends as much time as possible digging in the dirt tending to flowers and is only mildly obsessed with peonies. She’s also an avid reader and known to play an instrument or two. Did we mention she loves going to the movies? Ask her about her favourites, The Wizard of Oz followed closely by Princess Bride, and oh ya… if You’ve Got Mail is on, it’s getting watched.

When she’s not at her home in St. Peter’s Bay, she’s traveling solo to explore the world. Her favourite destination is New York to see as much of the city as she can and watch as many Broadway shows as humanly possible.

The best advice she ever received that she will always carry with her came from her mother. “Don’t make big decisions when you’re tired.” and honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
