Canada Trade Mission (CTM) to Mexico – Feb 15-20, 2026

Innovation PEI, in partnership with Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), is seeking interest from export-ready PEI-based companies to participate in a Canada Trade Mission (CTM) to Mexico.

Dates: Sunday, February 15 to Friday, February 20, 2026

Location:

  • Core programming in Mexico City from February 15 to 17
  • Sector-specific programming in Guadalajara and Monterrey from February 18 to 20

Sectors:

  • Manufacturing
  • Advanced manufacturing (Mexico City and Monterrey)
  • Agriculture and processed foods (Mexico City and Guadalajara)
  • Clean technologies and clean energy (Mexico City and Monterrey)
  • Creative industries (Mexico City and Guadalajara) – in partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage
  • Information and communication technologies (Mexico City and Monterrey)

Why Participate:

  • Networking opportunities with Minister LeBlanc, senior officials and Mexican business leaders
  • On-site business briefings by Trade Commissioners, senior officials and key local industry experts
  • Sector-specific site visits
  • Pre-arranged business-to-business meetings, exclusively offered to participating small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) operating within the trade mission sectors

Who is eligible to participate?

Eligibility criteria for Canadian SMEs

  • To be considered for this trade mission, Canadian SMEs must clearly demonstrate how they meet the following criteria:
  • Operate in one of the trade mission’s eligible sectors
  • Be export-ready with demonstrated potential for success in the Mexican market
  • Meet the eligibility criteria to qualify as a client of the TCS

Eligibility criteria for other Canadian organizations and large businesses

To be considered for this trade mission, large businesses, trade associations and chambers of commerce must clearly demonstrate that they:

  • Are strategically aligned with the trade mission’s eligible sectors
  • Can contribute to fostering partnerships, knowledge exchange or economic development
  • Have the ability to bring demonstrated value to the trade mission through expertise, resources or collaboration opportunities

Travel considerations and expenses:
Participants are responsible for organizing their own travel arrangements, including all air and ground transportation to and from the airport, and to make their own accommodation reservations. Programming and travel information (such as local transportation options and hotel recommendations) will be provided to confirmed participants as information becomes available.

Funding Support:
Innovation PEI’s Export Enhancement and Diversification Fund can cover up to 60% of eligible travel-related expenses for eligible participating companies from PEI, including economy airfare, accommodations, and meals. Selected delegates will receive information on funding opportunities through CanExport (GAC-Led Delegations).

There is no fee to participate in the trade mission. However, participants are responsible for covering all related travel costs, including airfare, accommodations, ground transportation and meals not included in the program.
